Nestled in the heart of Meridian, The Cottages founders chose the perfect location to build an assisted living and memory care home. The first Cottages campus was built in Emmett, Idaho in 2001. Just three years later, The Cottages of Meridian would be born!
The Cottages of Meridian’s History
The Cottages of Meridian became the fifth location after only three short years had passed since the first Cottages location was built. By this time, The Cottages of Emmett, Weiser, Payette, and Mountain Home were well established. The location was ideal, as the campus is nestled just outside of the Bridgetower subdivision. The campus address is 3199 W. Belltower Dr.
It is common for The Cottages residents to utilize the many walking trails that are nearby and enjoy rides in The Cottages’ golf carts throughout the subdivision. The individuals and families that reside in the subdivision love to see the smiling residents out and about, and commonly comment about how great this is for the area. The surrounding community members frequently volunteer their time to get to know the residents and bring fun activities to them. This varies from singing groups, bands, petting zoos, and more. There is even a daycare next to The Cottages of Meridian and the children will occasionally visit. For example, around Halloween the kids will come trick or treating. The residents give out candy, while the children relish in the experience. It is a fun time for everyone! So, in addition to the daily activities that The Cottages offer such as playing games, book clubs, summer BBQs, and outings, the residents at the Meridian campus stay engaged in many fulfilling activities.

Why The Meridian Area Is So Appealing
The Meridian area has much to offer and has attracted a lot of people from all over the nation, especially in the last few years. In fact in 2019, Meridian was ranked at the 9th best place to live in the U.S. Many chose to call Meridian home because it has a very low crime rate, easy access to healthcare, entertainment, schools and universities, and outdoor recreation destination spots. Meridian has a lot of job and volunteer opportunities too, and it’s easy to travel to the surrounding areas such as Nampa, Caldwell, Boise, Eagle, and Middleton. There are beautiful parks and the area is very family and resident friendly. One of the main attractions is The Village, a center where people can engage in shopping, dining, the theater, bowling and arcade games, and awe at the large fountain synchronized to music and lights.
Some of the main events that take place in Meridian are the 4th of July fireworks show at the Meridian Speedway, The Meridian Dairy Days and Parade, Art Week, and Free Concerts on Broadway. Many flock to attractions like Wahooz Family Fun Zone, Roaring Springs Water Park, Meridian Speedway, and Julius Kleiner Park. The Cottages residents have frequented many of these places, participated in these community events, and they love what the city has to offer.

The Cottages of Meridian is led by Heather Pinson, who is the Administrator. She has been with The Cottages for over a decade and is a true resident advocate. The Cottages of Meridian has won the prestigious AHCA/NCAL (American Health Care Association/National Center for Assisted Living) Bronze Quality Award, a rare recognition that is very difficult to obtain. The team is passionate about providing a great experience for the residents and ensuring that they receive the utmost care. They welcome you to come and visit, and would love to show you around!
